Welcome to all wine, cider, and sake producers from around the world!

We are pleased to announce the official opening of registrations for the 2025 edition of the prestigious Canadian competition, Sélections Mondiales des Vins!

As Europe concludes its major wine fairs and competitions, the spotlight now shifts to North America, and more specifically to Montréal, Québec, where the next SMV competition will be held.

🇨🇦 Canada, Your Strategic Business Ally in North America 🇨🇦

As the United States intensifies its protectionist policies and escalates trade tensions with many countries, Canada emerges as a stable, accessible, and trustworthy commercial partner. With transparent regulations and a welcoming environment for premium imports, the Canadian market offers an excellent opportunity to showcase your wines.

Boasting a rich gastronomic culture, a vibrant sommelier scene, and a growing interest in quality wines, sakes, and ciders, Canada today represents one of the most promising North American markets for producers seeking greater visibility.

👉 Register your wines for the 2025 edition of Sélections Mondiales des Vins — a strategic move to position your products for maximum impact: that’s the Canada advantage! 🇨🇦

🤝 Strategic Partnerships 🤝

SMV and SAQ: A Strong and Enduring Collaboration 🍷

Once again this year, SMV continues its long-standing partnership with SAQ.

During the 2024 edition, SMV significantly boosted the visibility of producers in the Québec market through several initiatives, including the creation of the SAQ Top 30 highlighting the best SMV-awarded wines already available in Québec, and a special promotion on SAQ.com featuring 10 winning wines for a week in February 2025.

The SAQ Inspire Contest is also returning, offering three “Grand Connoisseur” consumers the unique opportunity to be part of the SMV 2025 jury.

Following recent years’ success, the post-competition tasting of SMV 2025 medal-winning wines will be held in Montréal on October 22, 2025, with over 150 key industry guests attending.

🇫🇷 Bordeaux: Guest of Honor for the 2025 Edition 🇫🇷

In partnership with the Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux (CIVB), the Bordeaux region will be the guest of honor at the opening night of the 2025 edition, presenting an exclusive masterclass followed by a gourmet dinner.

The region will also be featured at the post-competition tasting event on October 22, 2025, to showcase its award-winning wines.

SMV 2025 Highlights

Celebrating Sustainable Winemaking 🌿

SMV will spotlight wines produced through sustainable methods (organic, biodynamic, natural, or undergoing organic conversion).
In 2024, over 44% of entries in these categories won medals!

Seeking Modern Wines 💡

North American consumers love fresh, light, sparkling, and lower-alcohol wines with strong character.
SMV 2025 will group these wines together for precise, targeted evaluation.

Low-Alcohol and Dealcoholized Wines 🚫

This booming category will have a dedicated jury and greater visibility, free from OIV regulatory constraints to better reflect market trends.

Sake on the Rise 🍶

Following the success of the 2024 edition (nearly 100 sakes entered, over 25 medals awarded), SMV confirms sake as a full-fledged competition category.
The Canadian market is ready — it’s your turn to shine!

New Category: Ciders ✨

In collaboration with Cidre du Québec, SMV is creating a dedicated category for Québec ciders, aiming to promote these products in an international competition setting and give them enhanced market visibility.

A Launchpad for the Canadian Market

SMV maintains close ties with importers, agencies, and major Canadian monopolies, including A3 and RASPIPAV, representing over 150 of the country’s most influential agencies.

Your wines will be evaluated by top experts and showcased ideally to captivate both the Canadian market and beyond.
