For several months, we had been actively preparing the 2026 edition of Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada, scheduled to take place next October.
However, over the past few weeks, my health has unfortunately deteriorated, requiring me to take the necessary step back and carefully reflect on my ability to lead this next edition according to the standards of excellence that have always guided the competition.
After extensive reflection with my family and our team, we have made the decision to cancel the 2026 edition of Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada.
This decision was not made lightly. From the very beginning, our priority has always been to deliver a rigorous and credible competition worthy of the trust that producers, partners, judges, and collaborators have placed in us for so many years. Today, we believe it is preferable to cancel the 2026 edition rather than compromise the standards that define the reputation of SMV Canada.
We would nevertheless like to reassure all of our partners: this decision does not in any way call into question the future or the value of Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada. The competition, its brand, and its legacy remain very much alive, and we will continue supporting our 2025 award-winning producers regarding licenses, medal stickers, and promotional tools associated with their distinctions.
We remain deeply committed to the mission and international influence of Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada.
This transition period will also provide an opportunity to reflect on the best way to ensure the long-term continuity and development of SMV Canada, while remaining faithful to the vision and values that have always defined the competition.
We sincerely thank all producers, partners, judges, and collaborators who have placed their trust in us over the years. Your loyalty and support mean a great deal to us.
