It is with great sadness that the Sélections Mondiales des Vins announces the passing of its president, Mr. Réal Wolfe, on October 11, 2026, in Montreal, at the age of 68.

Réal Wolfe played a pivotal role in the growth and recognition of Quebec’s wine industry. A unifying presence and tireless builder, he was deeply committed to fostering connections among wine producers, experts and professionals from Quebec and around the world.

As president of the Sélections Mondiales des Vins, he helped establish Montreal as a leading gathering place for the international wine community. His dedication, determination and ability to rally people around ambitious projects enabled the organization to grow and gain recognition well beyond Quebec.

His colleagues and collaborators will remember him as a dedicated and approachable man who cared deeply about his profession. His contribution will remain an integral part of the history of the Sélections Mondiales des Vins and will continue to inspire those who carry its mission forward.

He is survived by his wife, Michele Elyse Girard; his children, Marie Frédérique Wolfe (François Bally) and Charles Thomas Wolfe (Tayrie Brito Garrido); and his granddaughters, Elisabeth and Anna Bally.

He was the son of Agathe Bell, the brother of Monique Wolfe (Michel Pilon) and the brother-in-law of Danièle Girard (André Fournier). He is also survived by his nephew, Jean-Michel Pilon; his nieces, Béatrice and Laurence-Gabrielle Fournier; as well as his cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., at the Urgel Bourgie/Athos Funeral Complex, located at 1255 Beaumont Avenue in the Town of Mount Royal. A memorial ceremony will be held from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

The entire Sélections Mondiales des Vins team extends its heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. We will remember with gratitude his dedication, leadership and invaluable contributions to our organization and to the world of wine.
